View Full Version : LEO maintenance of Kahrs?
For LEO that use or are approved Kahr pistols what maintenance does the armorer require annually if any? What parts get replaced or checked?
Since it a personally owned Kahr, the armorer doesn't check it for anything at all, that is up to me. As for parts to be repalced, I have replaced my recoil spring (800 rounds) as a precaution, but then I also change my oil every 2500 miles, just to be sure.
In truth, my issue Beretta 40 has had more problems than my Kahr's ever did, which is why I started to carry a backup in the first place;)
My old departmet permitted the armorers to examine and repair personally owned/carried guns. If parts were required, we'd have to pay for them. We had a good group of armorers.
I retired 15 years ago and I don't know what the policy is now.

My dept. also expects me to maintain my weapon if I use my own.
