delete double posts

How do I delete a double post? (hit the post button twice and get two of the same back to back, quite annoying).

Users cannot completely remove a post, due to the way the system was set-up by Eric, the site owner. But you CAN edit the second post to remove the contents; some folks leave just a period, others say "Oops! Double tap, sorry" or something like that.
