Are other grips available for the MK9? The stock nylon grips are OK, but I would like to try some other options.

Kahr sells Wood Grips, either Smooth or Checkered. These are your only options.

I prefer the Smooth myself. YMMV

Yup, get the smooth ones. I got'em on my MK40. They are comfy and pretty. The only negative is the price.

If you put on the hogue handall jr, take it off often and keep the frame oiled. If not you will get really ugly surface rust. You will have to polish to correct the "problem". I speak from experience. I've had NO rust issues post wood grips.

While your pimping your piece you might also consider the low-profile 1911 hex head screws. They will finish the look and not rust like the cheap ones you get in the bag from Kahr. They do look sweet. www.woodgrips.com incase you are interested.

dirksterG30,

I got these from Kahr a few years ago:

I ordered the checkered ones from Kahr - If I did it all over again I'd go with smooth. But they are nice and look better (in my opinion) than the factory ones.
