View Full Version : my pm9 keeps getting better.
I got a new pm9 a few years back. And it seems to be getting better with use.The 1st 50 rounds gun was real tight and i had a few feed problems. And 1st round out of mag, was always tricky.
But now 200 pluss rounds gun seems to be only getting better with use. No jams at all in the last 150 rounds and 1st round out of mag, is getting smother. MY GUN SIMPLY WORKS FINE. Barrel peen ? I see some marks but you cant feel them. The more I shoot this gun the more I like it.;)
Only 200 rounds? Most people might argue that's *barely* getting broken in. So the barrel peening might not have even reared its ugly head yet in your unit.... still might arise in the future.
As for the first round being chambered, are you inserting a full mag with a closed slide and then racking it? Or are you locking back the slide first, inserting the mag, then puttin it into battery. I believe my K9 manual states its better to lock the slide back, then insert the mag and chamber it up. I use the slide stop also, do not pull back and release. Never any problems here. But I also polished the feed ramp on my barrel - I bet that would help your situation. (cant really hurt).
Based on previous owner round counts, my K9 Elite (manufactured summer 2001) is up around 700 rounds. Zero failures in my hands thus far.
Yes I only shoot the gun at the range about once every 3 mouths. About 25 rounds then I switch to my gkock,Yes I know that the manual states to use the slide lock (which I do)But using the sling shot now works also and did not when gun was new (tight)
I did polish the feed ramp it helps. Keep it well lube also.
As far as the barrel peening we will have to wait and see.
But like I said the more I shoot it the better it works.
