How do I check my folder?

when i'm on the home page is says i have 1 unread message in my folder beside my scrren name.

Ok. When you are on the front page, click on the bold text that reads, Private Messages. You will be taken to your private messages inbox and will see the message there. Just click on the messsage to read it.
