My local range has these pistols up for sale.
Colt's are nice but $1,275 a piece? Not my taste anyone else interested?

THATS NOT OUTRAGIOUS BY ANY MEANS.Think about it a colt cold cup run in that price range.this is not only a colt its a gunsite colt.id buy them for 2500.ill bet they go higher.
To me the numbers mean nothing. And actually I started only buying pre 70's series colts myself as I personally expect them to appreciate the most;)
How much does someone actually think these guns, pre 70 series Colts, are going to appreciate in price as an investment. Other than some commemorative models, I've never really seen it. Buy 'em to shoot 'em, it's the only way you'll get your monies worth out of them.
It's a good buy if you want Colts.
You would spend a lot more buying a series 70 Colt and adding those features.

I don't know about SOMEONE but arond her they have almost doubled in price in the last three years and have become rare to see for sale. And the GI guns even more so.The last one I bought was a 1950 colt commander in at least 95% conditon.Which I shot 50 rounds thru and put away and can't see putting undo wear on it when there are plenty of new guns around to shoot and not tear up this surviving piece of history:upeyes:

That's actually not a bad price for The Bullet Hole.

That is the reason why I only shoot there & mainly buy from Cabela's or pawn shops around(Mission Pawn is pretty good about coming down on price if you ask.)
Never said the price was bad just I would get something else for the money. I'm also 24 and don't know ****:) , I think that is what the customer serv. at the Bullet Hole think, that or because I'm young I don't have money, hard to get someone to help you even if their not busy.
I've always been tickled by the 'investment' of run of the mill Colts. I've had guys tell me how they got them for 50 bucks in the 70's and sold them for 600 30 years later, a 550 profit. The way I look at it, it was a weeks worht of pay then and a third of a weeks pay now. I don't call that much of an investment. Think about how long and how much it will go up compared to your earning potential. Invest in stocks and shoot your hardware.

No, it's not just you, unless you are in the Bullet Hole click, you will not get any decent service.

Didn't mean to hurt your feelings. BTW, is that your head stuck up your ass? Just asking the hard questions. :laughabove:
I guess my sincerest advice is to buy what you are going to shoot, it's the only way to get your money's worh out of the pistols, they will never appreciate enough in value for you to sit on them, that's just a silly notion.
I'd call that a little rich - probably $400 premium per gun. As always, it has to be worth it to you...
Further, Critter doesn't know it all, but he does know a lot, and what he said was true. Guns are a very poor investment when compared to just about anything else. Even a bond at 6% will double in value in 12 years, to say nothing of a decent blue chip over 20 years, which will normally triple.
Guns are for shooting, cars are for driving, and finacial instruments are for investing.

I think that this has always been a nice little forum
that we have going here. Can we try to show a little
respect for each other here?
There's a PM function here that can be kind of handy
if folks insist on taking their posts and replys to
a personal level.
