I've shot approx. 200 round through is weapon. The trouble I'm having is that sometimes the slide fails to come back into battery properly. I then have to nudge the slide forward from the rear. I've lube the heck out of the rails with "Break Free" and still have the problem. This occurs ususally several times per full magazine. I'm using Cor-Bon 135 grain hollow points and Winchester 165 grain fmj. Does anyone have any suggestions? :frown:

or you could put another 100 rounds through it. I have two PM40's that work flawlessly now, but when I first got them I had to put 300 rounds through them before the got reliable.
One had a weak recoil spring and I replaced it, that will keep it from going into full battery.
One test you can do is to put an empty magazine into an empty gun, pull the slide back and ever so slowly let it come forward into battery. If it doesn't make it, could be the recoil spring. It should have enough strength to pull it into battery, even without the advantage of momentum on the slide.

Thanks for the help. I'll try what you said.
+1 on that. My P45 recoil spring semed weak after 600 rounds. It wouldn't always close all the way. I emailed Kahr and was sent a free replacement spring in 2 days.

with such a powerful caliber have a tendence to wear a little quicker. However, your spring *could* be defective.
But my guns got better with use.

I put 100 rounds through the Covert today making a total of little over 300 and there was only one FTF malfunction. I suppose some pistols may require more than the nominal 200 rounds for break in. I'm now confident to carry this weapon concealed. Thanks for the suggestions.:)

I had the same problem and it was easily fixed. Make certain you have the latest spring design. Your spring (not the guide rod) should be black in color. If it is gray or silvertone, you have the old style. If this is the case, contact Kahr and they will send you a new assembly and you will be good to go.
