Hey all, I dont own a kahr now but I owned a MK9 stainless awhile back and it ran like a champ. I heard there are problems with the polymer ones and was wondering if anyone has heard anything good/bad about the P45 as a friend of mine is buying one today. Thanks.

I'll be buying a P45 today also. I'm not worried a bit. I've had a PM9 for three years without a single malfunction and it's on the recall list for a barrel. I've had a P9 which is my daily carry weapon and never had a single problem. Thousands of rds. through each. This P45 will replace my P9 for that role. I hope it fit's in the same holster is all I'm worried about. Tell your friend to buy with confidence and hold on tight! Any idea what he's paying? I should be getting mine with nightsights for around $750 OTD.

Whoo Hoo!! Picked up my P45 and I'm in love. I must admit, it's my first .45 and I have 17 handguns with this one included. I had a G36 that I bought new but just to make money off it. Sold it new for a $150 profit. Those mag's were just a turnoff to me. Should have a full size grip w/o the dumb mag extension but that's another topic. This thing is a beauty. Got it with nightsights for $699. Stopped by and picked up 1k rds. of WWB from Wal Mart on the way home. Stuff went up to 20 cents a rd. now but it's still cheaper than 10mm. I'll be back after I step out and throw a few hundred rds. through her. BTW, it fit's in my P9 leather holster so I'll just buy a new one for the P9. The fit and finish is as good as my PM9 and better than my P9.

Wow, well not much action here. I put 300 rds. through my new P45 with a few problems. I had Fail To Ejects (about 5), fail to feeds (again, about 5) and four times when I emptied a mag and the slide did'nt stay open. Oh well, I was disappointed but I figure I'll know in another 200 rds. I must say, I have a G23 and they are very similar in size but the G23 has a 100% capacity advantage. At the same time, I brought both and my 23 split at the front of the frame where the recoil assembly is above after 60 rds. I have about 10,000 through it now. I'm disappointed but it's solid and I believe it will break in. If it does'nt after the remainder of the 1k I have, I'll send it in for a look. I did take it apart and lube it heavily in all the right places before shooting it.

hmmm, well he just bought his that same day for $640 OTD.(no night sights) Im sorry to hear about your malfunctions, He is picking it up thursday(he doesnt have his CHL yet, sucker, lol) Ill let you know what happens at the range as soon as he shoots it.
I've had the P45 since they came out. Like ALL Kahr guns they suggest ramming some rounds through to break them in. Since my first 500 rounds and several cleanings mine has been very reliable. Still a fun, compact and easy concealed elephant dropper.
Yep, nothing but high praise here for my P45. I have had it 6 months now and after the initial 200 round break in period, not one malfunction. I have about 800 rounds through it now. Fits my P40 holster like a glove.
After work today I carrried it for several hours in the HOT 91 degree heat (hot for us this time of year anyway) today in a IWB holster in shorts and a tee shirt, while at the local parade. Not a worry, and no fear of rust after sweating on it all day.
I find that I am carrying this more than the Kel Tec 380 I bought for that purpose since it is so light, and so reasurring should I have to pull it out.

WOW! His gun broke before he could shoot it! He is really pissed. The pin that is inset in the slide release lever snapped at the part where it meets the lever. And he had just brought it home and just checked the chamber and was about to strip it down to lube it up and the slide release lever fell to the floor. So it broke after 30min of total ownership. Brought it back to the shop and they are sending it back to Kahr to have it fixed.:soap:
Sorry to hear that. But you know, there's always a lemon in all the good things, I am sure kahr will fix it good. I just got a P45 not long ago, it had been fully reliable and really accurate for a 3.5" gun. Since it's a small pistol with a big caliber, you have to really hold it really tight for it to function right. I really love mine and I carry it with me.
