G30 Magazine question

Is a 9 round G30 magazine just a 10 rounder with a G21 baseplate? If so, can you put a 10 round base plate on a G21 magazine and add one round capacity? (I own a G30 but not a G21)

No. The 9rd magazine has a shorter tube that fits flush w/ the magwell. The 10rd magazine is longer. The baseplate on the 10rd magazine actually covers some of the magazine tube, I guess to make it look prettier. I think you can install the G30 baseplate to the G21 magazine, however it won't add any capacity to it. It will just look like a G30 magazine that hasn't been inserted all the way. You can get an aftermarket +2 extension for the G21 13rd magazine, along with some sleeve that will bring yer capacity to 15+1. The sleeve is cosmetic and fits the contour of the grip.
