View Full Version : 90two Why Aluminum Instead of Polymer?

Why did they make the 90two with an aluminum frame instead of a polymer frame? The 92f with an aluminum frame is to heavy for a 9mm. Polymer is more durable than aluminum. Pistols should be made of steel or polymer. Aluminum is an obsolete light weight material for pistols. Aluminum sucks. The only aluminum frames I respect are made by Ruger.

Logic. It isn't just for philosophy anymore.

Disagree w/ U. Buy a PX4 if you want a Beretta polymer gun.
When shooting a 92FS side by side w/ polymer guns, the aluminum frame sucks up a lot of the recoil.

You couldn't make a 90TWO in a polymer frame and keep the same dimensions. The polymer has to be thicker in certain areas to maintain strength, and the 90TWO design is not compatible with that kind of modification. To make it out of polymer would take a complete re-design of the pistol, so aluminum it is. Besides, obsolete or not, the 92 series is still a good pistol, and I wouldn't trade mine for any Ruger ever made.

Funny you should say that. I wouldn't trade any of my Rugers for a Beretta any day either. I'm not saying I wouldn't buy a Beretta, but I'm not giving up my Rugers.

Any one who thinks the 90TWO is heavy or that the 92FS is heavy for a 9mm really needs to pick up my SP01 just once to rid themselves of that notion. 92FS is large for a 9mm but not really too heavy.
