Well I went to the gun shop today and another Bulgy Mak followed me home. Someone traded in 3 on Thursday and I think I picked the best of the lot. This is my 2nd Bulgy and I do not think it has ever been shot. Paid $159 for it. I think it was worth it. It has a little diffenet markings then my other one. The finish is great and I think it has the EG black grips. I am so tempted to go back and get the other two!

Great find at a great price! I see the big Century import billboard is absent. Terrific. No billboard Bulgies are rare around here.
If you were to go back and get the other two, expecially as time goes by, you will not be sorry.
I went to the largest gun show in Indiana over the weekend and for the fist time in the 2 1/2 years I've been going I did not see a single Makarov on any of the tables. $160 sounds like a good deal. I'm suspecting they're getting much harder to find. If you can afford it, I'd buy at least one of the remaining two. Nice Bulgie! I have two and finally picked up a IWB Don Hume leather holster at the show (Model #59 if you're in the market for one).

What cought my eye on this one was the Bulgaria is stamped on the frame at the rear of the trigger area going up diagonally. It also has some funny marks that look like Chinese letters.

For $159 you will regret it if you don't buy the other two.;)
Personally, I'd buy them in a minute and I've already got a few.

I went back to the gun shop today with full intentions in getting one of the other two maks but I didn’t like the crossed out stamps and the big century stamp. So I passed. I got a Tula Toz-78 .22 instead. Not a bad little rifle for $150. A guy had one at the range this weekend with a cheap scope. It was grouping as good as the high dollar rifles that were there.

A few?? Aren't you up to double digits now in the Makarov Dept. Buck? What's your oldest? What year did you buy your first one? I'd love to see a picture of all your Maks.

Be very careful, boys and girls!
I bought my first Mak, an East German, at a gun show, not even knowing what it was. I soon bought a second one without telling SheWhoMustBeObeyed, but, since she only saw them one at a time, she never caught on.
Then, something happened in the safe when I wasn't looking, and there were four EG's! I managed to get rid of the two newer ones to a couple of friends, giving the pick of the litter to my best friend. Now, as a responsible Makarov owner, I keep them in different safes.
You guys better be separating those things, or at least getting them spayed and neutered, or you'll have a storage problem before you know it.

I've had a total of 19. Not all at one time. I sold or traded 4 and gave 1 to a friend. Now I'm at 14. Chances are if a .380, that I passed on, is at the next show I may get it. The .380 is a nice shooter also.
The earliest date I have handy is Jan 2000 when I traded a 12 shot for a EG, but I bought the EG Mak when they were first imported, whatever year that was. A pilot at work had a FFL and sold them to us at his cost. Then when I saw what a good gun it was I tried to order another but the EG Maks were all sold out and the Russian were being imported, so I ordered 2 of them. I've been a sucker for them ever since.
I'll get them together for a picture one day.:)

When I'd get home from the gun show I'd show my Wife what I bought. When I brought home the 6th Makarov I told my Wife, "I know you aren't going to buy that, "It's a good deal and will increase in value" BS any more, so I'm just going to throw myself on the mercy of the court."
I'd consider another Mak - if I could find decent ammo to go with it!!!
