How would you rate the vehicle as far as your satisfaction with dealer, reliability and overall quality?

Hey jungle, I just bought an 2003 with 23000 miles on it about a month ago. It is sweet!
The previous owner did not have a clue that it had a fuel filler hose recall and an TSB regarding front tire feathering caused by improper alignment, so I got to meet the local Nissan dealer and to my surprise the service rep was a great guy, no long lines, treated me like I bought the car new from them and fixed every thing right the first time. I was shocked!
Other than that I had the Service Rep pull up the data base on my Z and the only other problems it has had was a window motor replaced and a rear emblem replaced.
The car is rock solid and handles like a dream, shifting is very smooth and precise. It red lines at about 6800 and really makes a lot of power in the higher RPM's
Cruising on the freeway I keep finding myself putting along around 90-95, I gotta get me a good radar detector.
If you got any question just ask!
Here's a few pic's of my new toy. Let the mods begin.

Nice car! They got everything right the first time? Now that is a shocker.

My roommate has a Touring convertible for nearly three years now. Overall it isn't too bad but it is not what one would expect from a Japanese product's reliability and quality either. The roof had to be replaced because a hole was worn through. The right passenger window motor just went out and the car is barely 1000-miles out of warranty. When he first had it, the panel for the trunk flew off at speed. Something about the glue used wasn't up to spec. The whole lid was replaced because Nissan's engineers wanted to look at his car's original trunk lid. And of course the well known problem with wheel alignment that ate tires like crazy. Oh yeah, and the stereo had to be replaced under a recall if memory serves.

The clutch is going out but I don't think that it's a design issue. More like due to driving in the infamous SoCal traffic jam on a daily basis.

My driving impressions of the car was and still is favorable. Not my cup of tea but not bad of a sport car either. Sweet engine with torque like a large bore V8. I think that the engine makes the car feels faster than it really is. 2-3 and 4-5 shifts are usually sticky and clunky.

I've heard Nissan is having some problems because they were bought by Renault and the French are instilling their inferior manufacturing practices.

Anyone else heard this?

The 350z is a great looking car though!

Been spending a lot of time reading and posting at

I almost had my uncle talked into a 350 Track at the last car show. He is a huge BMW fanatic and really wants an M3, but does not think he can afford one (his brother has one and we know how competitive brothers can be  ), so he thought the 350 would be a good but more affordable choice (especially when I told him about the "track" version).

I have an O4...simply put, I love it. The dollar to fun ratio is perhaps the greatest out there. It has great power stock and there are tons of mods out there for it. As others have said there are a few known minor problems...but, what car doesn't have them? I had the rear axle clicking but, I found a great Nissan dealership that took care of it free of charge...they just said I had to come back and visit, which I will.

Glad to see another member over here. There seems to be plenty of gun nuts over there too.

Good to hear Mwildt, I go by salvo there too, how about you?

I can be found under, KY Z.

By the way...nice choice on color. I had to go with the Silverstone. The only Lemans I could find within a few hundred miles were A/T's.

Yea, I am also interested in a 350Z. I wonder how she fairs against then new Mustang GT. Has anyone had any experience with them both?
