Suggestions:

Have a good antivirus program.
Have a good firewall.
Have an adware remover program.
And back up all your data files.

Most peer-to-peer (P2P) programs install adware themselves, not to mention downloaded files which pretend to be something then turn out to be spyware/adware/full blown viruses/trojans.

Bearshare lite is a little less ad intrusive, but no p2p program can be considered totally safe.

I'm no computer expert, but I have had to reformat no less than 3 hard disks due to downloading too much you know what.

Other than that, good luck and have fun.

im using limewire pro... faster than regular limewire...

its quite safe... assuming u are able to spot which files are bogus...
u would notice them quite easily based on their size... there are common sizes for these bogus files... which are usually ads or installers...

just dont click on these and install them... and ur ok...

I think safe ang mga mp3s sa limewire, just dont download the ones with 'sponsored result' in their names.

I have been using BitComet for quite sometime now, mga 3 months, after I subscribed to PLDT's 999 student DSL plan.

Dozens of movies, applications, mp3's and whatever is there to download, wala pa nama akong naging problema.

Limewire for music and torrents for movies.

Tip: You can use Limewire or Torrents to download Limewire Pro

Get the Roxio Media software. It has a DivX to DVD creator.

Also, try to download movies in KVCD format. CD images that you can burn directly to CD (use slowest burn speed). The files are not too big and the picture quality is great.

Thanks for the tips.

I've downloaded in KVCD format, that which gives the .cue and .bin files, but i'm not satisfied with the result. Medyo madilim at reduced quality, unlike the divX files I got which are truly sharp and does justice to the time spent to download it.

I've also used TMPGEn convertors, freeware sa download.com, but I end up having to burn 3-4 gig of data instead of only 700+mb. Mas mahal pa naman dvdr's kesa cdr's, lalu na generic. Dami ko nang itinapon dvd, NR-NE pa naman pag dvdr. :freak:
