Instructions say not to overtighten cap screws or use loctite. Huh? Thought loctite was a good idea.

Good alternative. I'm wondering why no loctite though.

What mount is it?
I don't see why you couldn't use blue loctite. It's not permanent and they even include a little tube with their BUIS'.

Me too.....cause I already loctited (Blue) the full spacer to my 22M68 mount........OOPS

Forgot to add, if you don't use some kind of threadlocker on the 22M38 mount spacers, they will shoot loose over time!

I would use blue loctite on anything that is a screw. They don't want you to over tighten the screws as you will strip them.

It's a 22M68 and cantilever spacer for my Aimpoint. What the hell is a screw cap? I've always used loctite, even on my other 22m68 mount. Guess I'll use loctite anyway, just wondering why the instruction on the box say don't.
they might be trying to idiot proof the thing and tell you not to use it on your scope adj screw caps. i have a 22m68 with full spacer, and you'd be crazy if you think i'd not use loctite (RED!) on those bolts. no problems at all. they might be trying to cover future problems, like if decided to go cant. with the 3x tube, or nv behind it. or you use cant. and want regular...

+1
I used blue loctite on mine.
Non-permanent Loctite is recommended on all screws. I have no idea why an instructor would recommend against it. Perhaps they have not seen what happens to screws after heavy use. They will come loose.

It's not a "screw cap". It's a "cap screw". Like this:
