can i piggy back a 1xsite to a scope?

i have a flat top ar15 with leupold vx 4x12x40. would like to figure a way to put a site on top (piggyback) of my scope without it being to high up? i was told j point with a scope adaptor . does any body know of a system that works. i have heard of a mount that revolves side to side for two or three different optics? i'm open to ideas.

the mattburk off set sounds good. but if it is going to be off set does any body make an off set mount for an eotech or acog to atach on the fore rail?

You could use that on a flattop or on a forend with a rail. basically it will go just about anywhere with a rail.
