I just got this guy from the local fun store late last week. I saw it and just had to have it, I love the guns of WWII and this is my favorite. It seems to be in real good shape externally, virtually no marks on the stock and the internals were clean and in good condition. It came with some stuff in the buttstock, does this add anything to the rifle (not $ wise)? I haven't shot it yet, but I am ordering ~1k of that Korean surplus tomorrow. Can't wait to take it out and shoot with it. Here are some pictures.

**** son! That's the holy grail as far as I'm concerned! That's a really beautiful battle rifle!
Is it correct (matching serial numbers)?
Check out http://www.odcmp.com for much more info on the Garand.
Where ya' gettin the M2 ball?
Sportsman's Guide has the best prices I've seen on that ammo.
You can get 250 round cans, in Garand En Bloc clips, for under $0.17 per round. You'll pay a little more if you want the bandoliers too.
I have a USGI Springfield Armory Field Grade rifle on order with CMP right now. I hope to get it before September, and I don't expect it to look as good as yours does.

The best part of the whole thing is....wait for it.....$550 out the door. I am going to take it apart and check out the serial numbers and see if it's matching. I do know that it was made in early October 1943.

As I recall from following the CMP forum for awhile, you won't find any matching serial numbers. A lot of the parts have "drawing" numbers and aren't supposed to match the serial number.
With a lot of research, you might be able to determine if some parts are replacement parts vs. original. It likely has replacement parts, most of them do.
