Has Wolf 55 gr (NOT the 62) ammo ~$99/1000. I ordered 2k for 2 hundred bucks. Look under the ammo section in Arfcom for more details. There are some coupon codes in the thread as well.
Backorder is the first of August but I say buy now for when you want to plink this fall and need ammo.
I wish I could figure out how to use fatwallet.com. Seems I messed that up but 200 bucks for 2k rounds ain't bad at all.
Thanks for posting that here...hopefully that price sticks so I can get a few thousand rounds coming when I cash out some of my vacation time at the end of the month.

Thanks, Razoreye ... I'm in for 3000 rounds.
Fatwallet isn't that rough, just gotta follow the right steps
1. Logon 2 FATWALLET (http://www.fatwallet.com)
2. Click on the Stores tab
3. Find and click on Sportsmans Guide
4. Click on the 6% cash rebate link to launch the sportsmans guide window and allow fatwallet to track your visit
5. Buy your stuff, and your cashback will appear "sometime" in your fatwallet account.
This was good timing ... I got a free 30 day buyers club membership with the new SG catalogue, which reduced the cost to 99.72 per thousand rounds ... used the coupon code tooly (http://www.glocktalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=553902&highlight=coupon) posted for an extra 10 bucks off, and 6% cash back (fatwallet)on the total order ($17.94) brings the total cost to 291.21 for 3000 rounds with the $19.99 shipping costs tacked on ... not too bad!
I ordered my 2000 yesterday and have a ship date scheduled for June 30th so I must have gotten in the first batch. Can't complain to much at .12 cents a round.

Well rumors say they've been backlogged for months and slowly get it in and ship it out. But I figured "what the hey," later in the fall when I need the ammo and at a cheap price I will already be charged and shipped. I figure if you don't need the ammo right now you have nothing to lose by buying now at that price. If you need the ammo now then you're looking at the wrong place but if you can wait I'd say it is worth it.

I can't find this on the sportsmen's guide website.

Thanks,

No telling when the ammo will be shipped but your welcome!
I just snagged 5K rounds of the M193 ammo for $189 per 1000 from SG. PLus I always get a $10 coupon everytime I order. Should be here monday according to the UPS tracking info.
I already have 10K rounds of the normal wolf in the basement, I didnt need any more right now.
Thanks for the heads up.

That's still a good price for M193.

YW, TimP! I'm jealous, I don't have a stockpile of ammo (yet.) ;)
Arrrg!
I am strapped for cash right now. I really want some plinking ammo so I can save my milsurp stuff for SHTF.
Thanks for the heads up though.
if you are a club member you can do a 4 pay plan, with no extra cost. They split the payments up over 4 months on your CC. Must be over $100.
i thought i heard that wolf was not good to use in ar. everyone here seems to be buying it, is there somehting i am missing?

It works, not the best, but it works..
I quit using it because the smell was over powering in the AR gas system..

Older lots of the ammo used a green laquar (spelling nazis help me!) coating that some people found would tend to leave a residue in the chamber that would eventually melt and glue the action shut on empty brass. Newer lots use a gray polymer coat that doesn't do this. The coatings were needed to prevent corrosion in the steel cased ammunition which is rougher on extracters because steel is harder than brass. Extensive use of this ammunition has been linked by some with extractor claw breakage. In my experience, if indeed the stuff does break extractors, it takes thousands of rounds to do it, by which time the accumulated savings of money not spent on ammo is more than enough to replace the extracter. To those who worry that the extractor may break because of steel case use at a bad time (during SHTF), I say keep a spare extractor around and install it before you go in harm's way, and then you needn't worry about how steel case ammo may have worn the extractor.

The price for ammo in metal tins (same Wolf but in a spam can) isn't bad either, though not as super cheap as this deal.

BTW, I received what appeared to be a check from SG - was just the confirmation of my order but said the order was 30-45 days away from being processed. I'm not too hopeful on that date but that's alright. It's worth it.
