View Full Version : Heinie sights
I wondered if anyone has any experience with Heinie sights. I have a new G22 that I want to take off the plastic sights and mount some new steel sights. The only "gadget" I want. I don't need night sights and want straight black. I use the gun for range, home defense and some friendly club competitions. Heinie has 3 types I am looking at. The "Slant Pro", "Glock Race Cut" and the "Original Style". They are all black which I want and are fairly priced in my range. I appreciate it guys. Slainer

I believe the Heinie Sights are an excellent choice. I like the flat blade and larger/deepr notch in the rear sight with the thinner front sight. As to which one of the three to buy, I think it depends on what you like, your eyesight and what you plan to use your Glock for. I have all, but the Competition type and need to try them.
I have been trying several different sight sets out, and one of my favorites is the set from Glock Racing that has the wider cut slant rear with the thin RED fiber optic front. I admit my eyes are old, and this combo is both quick to aquire and accurate. For any shooting other than total darkness they are the best I've tried. For me they outperform a set that is green fiber optic front and rear. One of my G19s has the Novak slant front/rear trit night sights and they are of course superior for nighttime. Regards
i have hienie's on 2 of the 3 glocks i own.
they are my favorite sights.
the slant pro straight 8 nite sights are excellent and precise.
the race cuts ,work better at shorter(defensive) ranges.
attached is a pic.
the night sights are
hienie slant pro straight 8'
trijicon
the standard sights are hienie slant pro race cut(the rear sight has a wider notch).
here is another angle,
hope this helps.
Also look into Ameriglo Combat sights.
I have several Glocks, but the only Heinie's are on my G35. They happen to be the Slant Pro Straight Eights (night sights). They are my favorites for precision target shooting. Since you don't want/need night sights, I'd recommend the race cut Heinie's.
I have them on my G29...nice
i have heinies on 8 or so glocks, plus 2 with dawson adjustables, one with a C More, and several with trijicons (sic?). you can beat the heinies, i'd go with the race cut and a dawson fiber optic front.

The Heinie 315 CGR race cut is a great option as well as the Heinie with DP fiber optic front. You might also like the WTS black sights.
Thanks guys! All great info. Now I need to decide!! Slainer

I have 4 Glocks wearing Heinie Slant Pros - I guess that means I like them. The only beef I have with them is the stock front doesn't shoot to point of aim for me. I have to buy the taller fronts from Heinie to correct for them shooting high.

I had heinies. I found that the tritium spots were too small. I did low light shooting and they weren't bright enough for me (and i have young eyes). I found the mepros were brighter, but the XS were even better. You can't beat the heinine/dawson combo for competition shooting.
