View Full Version : Tips for installing RRA 2-stage LPK?
I'm waiting for my RRA LPK to come in and I have a quick question:
I've read the intructions over at ARF.com and was wondering if there is anything I need to look out for if I'm installing the RRA 2-stage trigger. The intructions are for the standard kit, so I'm just looking for some advice from those of you who have done it before.
Or any other general tips, advice, etc. Thanks guys!
it's pretty straight forward. RRA 2-stage is also a drop-in like the standard trigger kit.
A non marring punch can be of great use when installing pins in any weapon. I'm cheap and have a scrap of an old bamboo chopstick in my gun tool box. whittle/ grind the tip to the size needed and tap with a light hammer.
Good for final seating of the pins to get them flush without whacking the finish on your receiver as well as starting pin removal until you can insert a punch into the hole.
Take your time, prevent flying springs and parts, print out the instructions for quick reference and don't force anything.

Remove hammer pin, remove hammer, remove trigger pin, remove trigger/disconnector, install new trigger, install new trigger pin, install hammer, install new hammer pin, perform safety checks, and you're done.
Are you just replacing a standard trigger with a RRA 2-stage trigger in an existing lower, or are building up a stripped lower?
The RRA 2-stage goes in just like the standard trigger. There is nothing special about it.
I have a RRA 2-stage in my Bushmaster and I love it! It has a very clean and light pull. I already bought another one for when I build my varmint rifle.
I'm building up a stripped lower. It's my first build, first AR, so I'm just trying to make sure I don't screw anything up. I should be getting the LPK in the mail on Monday. One other question, do you guys use any grease to lubricate the fire control group? or do you just use CLP?
As a side note, the info on this site is awesome! Thanks to everyone who's answered my question, in this thread and others. You guys are the best!

I don't put anything down there, I occasionally use a can of dust off to spray it out. I haven't yet though I've been meaning to strip my lower and give everything a good look and cleaning with clp, but I don't think this is really neccessary?? (Agree/disagree?) -dok

The only thing that can cause a problem is particles like blown primers in underneath the disconnector.
Just a quick update, got my LPK installed with no problems. Launched a detent once, found it and got it in the second time. Now it's just a matter of finding an upper... BRD's creeping in slowly
