I have zero experience with scopes. I have a Marlin 7000 and 2K rounds on the way to my house. What you you suggest in the way of a scope?
(small game, target)

I'm a huge fan of Leupolds' 4X rimfire special.
It has a very fine plex and is as clear and bright a scope as I've ever seen, also the size is just right to mount low behind the rear sight instead of high and over the sight.(very important for fast handling IMO)

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll take a look at it.
I have a Leupold VX-1 2-7X on my Marlin 25MN. The ability to change magnification is a real asset, in my book. Nothing wrong with fixed powers, of course.
