View Full Version : AIM Has Mak Ammo In Stock
Yeah, its not Silver Bear - its some Polish ammo (non-corrosive):
Mesko 9x18 93grn FMJ - $ 6.50/box 50 - $ 6.25 / box 50 for 10+ boxes.
Anybody heard of this ammo? I figure it will be good enough to plink with and bought 11 boxes to check it out. Can't be any worse than the Wolf at Ammoman for $ 99 / 500 rds .
Hopefully that will tide my Mak fix over until the 'Bears return.
Total cost was $ 79.75 for the 550 rds.

Save the brass.
You should be able to sell it to someone that reloads 9x18 for $20 or more putting your cost per box in the $5.50 range for what's probably good ammo.:)

It hasn't been around for ~ 5 years. Don't worry about the brass unless you can reload Berdan primers. I did some testing on it (10 rounds):
Range: 934 - 1026 fps
Avg: 975
ES: 92
SD: 31
I'm not personally interested, but I see that Natchez has Wolf 100 grain FMJ for $6.99/50. If anyone is hard up for Mak ammo, this might help.

Yeah 50 Cent, disregard the cases. I got it mixed up with this ammo.

And this is out of stock anyhow.
Based on North Bender's chrono, looks like it has decent enough punch. If my Bulgy is true to form, then I figure it will feed ok.
Like I said - can't be any worse than Wolf (which I have also never had a problem with).
Heck, the Polish company that makes it has a web site up and they seem like a decent enough outfit.
I just purchased 7,000 rds of this stuff from AIM. Stocking up on 9x18, 5.45x39mm and 7.62x39mm in case we get an import ban of some sort.

Went by and picked up 500 rds this afternoon. Good looking ammo. I am going to buy another 1k this Friday. While I was there I looked at the CZ 82's, they were great looking IMO. I probably should have got one , but I must admit I have bought almost too many pistols the last 3-4 months. I am just trying to concentrate on Glocks for the time being. I really like working only a 5 minute drive from AIM.
AIM is a great dealer IMO. All my Glocks have been bought from them directly or have been transfered thru them. Heck, as far as that goes about 75% of my firearms have came from them one way or another. Great people to deal with.

I live fairly close to AIM, have been wondering about those CZ-82s, thanks for the in-person report. The website says they come with two magazines. Do you happen to know if AIM has any extra CZ-82 mags available besides that? Thanks.

I don't know about extra mags. Since I wasn't getting one I didn't inquire about extras.

Made a trip to AIM last week. They don't have any extra mags for those CZ-82s, but each gun does come with two.
Moot point for me anyhow, didn't like the overall feel of the 82 enough to buy one.
