What is the best holographic, red dot sight for a AR-15 carbine used for CQB? Why? Thanks
Depends on your preference. I find the EOTech to be too busy for my tastes. I like the Aimpoint. However, I know many people that swear by the EOTech. I also know people who like the Trijicon Tripower and its triangle.

I like both the Aimpoint and the EOTech. I would prefer the EOTech though since you dont have to look down a tube to find the dot. Thats just personal preference.
I believe most EOTechs are cheaper then Aimpoints too.
Either one is a quality optic and should fulfill your needs.

I agree with dport, depends on which you prefer. I have an Aimpoint Comp ML3 and love it, tried an EO Tech and the image was sorta grainy to me (just my eyes, they work awesome for other people). Some of the Aimpoint's perks are water resistant to 135 feet, and a 50,000.00 hour (6 years if left on) battery life, and built like a tank!
I Don't think you'll go wrong with either!

Either the Aimpoint or the EOTech will be a good optic. I prefer the EOTech.
Everything has ups and downs, remember that.
My least favorite is EOT, hate the grainy ring and dot, battery life. Aimpiont is my second choice, bright sharp dot, coated lens. You need to look down your sight no matter what it is a tube or display glass, dude, they don't jump out in your face, and 5+ years of battery life is no comparison.
My most favorite is Tripower, love that bright sharp chevron point, coated lens, no battery needed for most of the time, fiber optic in the lit area, tritium at night, and battery power for some thing else in between.
If you are a good shopper, you can find Tripower that is sold for nearly the same as an Aimpiont ML3, oh yea.., and you don't even need to buy a ring!

Due to familiarity, the Aimpoint. Also simple (roll the dial and it's on).
Mine's taken a serious beating in six months of active duty use and no problems. If it somehow did break, it's issued. :)

As others have said, both are quality. I prefer the EOTech, but then again if I was on a long deployement into BFE, I would go with the Aimpoint for its battery life.
I offer GT member discounts on both optics, shoot me an e-mail if interested in my prices. sales@grtactical.com
