I am a big guy who has recently come over to the "Evil Black Rifle" and am wondering if there is a simple (read inexpensive) way to lengthen the stock of a Bushmaster A2. Adding a recoil pad is easy, but looks stupid as to me, the .223 doesn't kick very much.
Any suggestions?

Yeah, get as short of a stock as possible. I like 'em short. That is my bias. I can't imagine an A2 or even longer. YMMV.
I am 6'0 and run a collapsed stock one click out. Even the bigger guys I know (I am no small fry) think the A2 is too long.

if they don't have it, they probably don't exist.
Or check with a stock maker (Magpul, Vltor, etc) and see if they'd custom-make you a add-on piece. They usually make collapsibles, but....... they might.

Just how big of guy are you?????
You want your nose touching the charge handle.
I'm 5'11" and prefer the first or second click of a 6 position stock.

Thanks for the responses.
To answer questions, I am 6' 4" ~350 lbs with a 37" sleeve. When I go to shoulder the rifle naturally, I end up with the butt about an inch from my shoulder. I just wanted to try to see if I could make it feel more natural to me.

Nose touching the charger? What on earth for? I tried it. How incredibly awkward.
YOU may want your nose on the charger. The OP may even want that. I certainly don't.

It's to obtain consistent and repeatable sight picture, and avoid optical displacement and focal distortion(s).

Can you describe the type of shooting you're doing, stance and body position, and formal training you've had? Those answers might help us better help you.

I run a VLTOR Mod4 stock with a 16" CAR rifle. I keep the rifle in the extended position most of the time, but if I were to use it for up-close and personal stuff, I would retract it. Even having 5 positions, I only ever use two positions.
Unless you are 7' tall, I might suggest leaving it the way it is, and not to put a pad on the A2 standard stock, because it hinders access to the trap door in the back. If you are 7' tall, consider a bigger rifle.

I know a couple of folks who are just under 7'. Stocks on their M-16A1s suited them just fine. One swears by the Sully stock on his entry gun, the other runs his Colt M4 collapsible about half open.

I'm still waiting to see the simian-armed Marines that brought us the A2 stock.
G2, are you trying to get far enough from the aperture to see it clearly? You need not do that; it's okay for it to be fuzzy.
If I'm telling you something you already know, sorry.
