Does your local shop have some of the non-rail ones on the shelf? It sounds like they just don't want to order one for you so they can get rid of the ones they already have. The G30 isn't usually very hard to get, and there is another shop by me that I know has them also. But their prices are almost unspeakable. As far as online places, check: www.topglock.com www.budsgunshop.com I have had decent service from both. uz2bUSMC 07-19-2006, 14:41 flatwoods is too expensive. If you are in the j-ville area, check the gun shoppe that is directly across from the mall. g-30 $550. Glocks&Ducs 07-19-2006, 16:31 Originally posted by uz2busmc flatwoods is too expensive. If you are in the j-ville area, check the gun shoppe that is directly across from the mall. g-30 $550. Flatwoods is hit or miss. I have bought a couple of guns at the Gunshoppe, but I didn't pay sticker price for them. They over price their guns by about $100 but they will come down if you know what you are talking about. I know of someone that paid $699 for a Kahr P45 at the gunshoppe, and up until a few days ago, they had their Glocks priced at $599 for all of them. Just so you know, the G30 at Flatwoods has a tag with a bit less than $550 on it. I just bought a Kel-Tec 308 in Newport for $249 plus tax, at the Gunshoppe they have tags on theirs for something like $350. It's about an hour out from J-ville, but Ed's gun shoppe in Newport has the best prices in our area. All of their standard Glocks are $489.99 all the time, and the 45's are $519 if I recall correctly. Oh yeah, just yesterday, Flatwoods sold me a like new G32 with three mags and all of the usual factory stuff for $435 out the door. I also bought a used 2nd gen G22 for $309 out the door from them. I would know what I was talking about before making blanket statements. JDinNC 07-20-2006, 14:13 I'm in Raleigh NC. uz2bUSMC 07-20-2006, 14:46 the keltec is $299, not $350 And lets see, I just paid $550 for a G-30 A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO. Not $599, I bought a G20 from them for $550 about 7 months ago - not $599. Everytime Ive been in flatwoods over the last 8 or 10 years they have always been over priced. You might want to look a little closer at your credit card statement before you sign it next time. Dude, just the other day I bought a Kel-Tec in Newport because the Gun Shoppe had three ugly purple and beige pimp looking ones in their gun case. One may have been priced at $299, the other two were well into the $300's. Either way, they were all overpriced or I would have bought one on the spot. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b260/shmauricio/keltec.jpg When they finally got their XD45ACP's in, they were priced well into the $600's. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b260/shmauricio/xd.jpg They have a Glock 45GAP in the case now, for $550 http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b260/shmauricio/g38.jpg When they have a WWII 1911 in stock, it is priced well into the $500's http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b260/shmauricio/1911.jpg Like I stated earlier, the GunShoppe overprices their guns by $100 to $150 waiting for the perfect sucker to come in. When I bought my G26 from them, I paid $469 for it, and when I bought my G20 from them, I paid $525 for it. But the tags had much higher price tags on them. It looks like you simply got took. I never said Flatwoods had the best prices, but the Gun Shoppe definitely isn't any better unless you know how to talk to them and have cash in hand. Don't argue with the proven truth. It only makes you look stupid. Glocks&Ducs 07-20-2006, 17:27 JD, I hear the gun shop in Garner, on Tyron or Tryon street is pretty good with their prices, but I haven't been there personally. Perhaps you can give them a call and find out from them. I have decided to buy the G30 from topglock.com. Glocks&Ducs 07-20-2006, 19:16 Are they the ones that told you they coudn't get one of the railed ones? Did you actually call TopGlock and make sure they are sending you a railed one? They have been touch and go with their honesty, but I haven't had any major problems with them. If you do run into problems, call and ask for Josh. He is the manager there, and took real good care of me when a problem did begin to develop. JDinNC 07-20-2006, 19:26 Originally posted by Glocks&Ducs Are they the ones that told you they coudn't get one of the railed ones? Yes they are. I called topglock today and they said they do have G30's with the rail. I went to my gun store today and had them fax their FFL to topglock. I will prob make the purchase within the next few days. uz2bUSMC 07-21-2006, 13:59 JDinNC, have you looked at the schedule for gunshows in your area. And how much is the shop charging you for the ffl transaction? GlocksandDucks, Only thing you proved to me is you got a good deal on used guns from Flats, big deal. They probably had them over priced for so long that they needed to move them. I cant say whether or not the gun shoppe's prices on 1911 are high or not because I don't keep up with them. But I'll take your word on that. Glocks&Ducs 07-21-2006, 14:13 Originally posted by uz2busmc JDinNC, have you looked at the schedule for gunshows in your area. But I'll take your word on that. Out of those receipts, the only used gun was the G32 and it looks brand new. Look at the dates on the XD and the G38. That is exactly when the guns were hitting the market. The 1911 was brand new, as can be attested to by sniperfox. I just sold it to him a few weeks ago. It was obviously still unfired, even when I sold it to him. I stopped by the Gun Shoppe again. They want $599 for all of their 9mm Kahr's. The CW9, the PM9, and a P9. The other shops arond here are selling the CW9 for $379, and the P9 for $520. I haven't seen any PM9's at the other shops. Just admit it, either you work there, or you can't face the fact that you are WRONG. uz2bUSMC 07-21-2006, 14:29 Certainly don't work there. And I really cant read your receipts anyway. But maybe flats has dropped their prices because the were even higher than sportman's for a while and were actually needing to sell some guns. But I'll be sure too take a trip out to Flats here soon to see their 'incredible' prices. uz2bUSMC 07-21-2006, 15:21 JDinNC, Sorry 'bout arguing in your thread btw. Glocks&Ducs 07-21-2006, 15:59 Originally posted by uz2busmc Certainly don't work there. And I really cant read your receipts anyway. But I'll be sure too take a trip out to Flats here soon to see their 'incredible' prices. If you read what I wrote, I never claimed they have incredible prices. I was simply pointing out that you don't know what you are talking about, in claiming that The Gun Shoppe has better prices. Both of them are outrageous, unless you can talk them down. The only place with real good prices, is ED's in Newport. But I already stated that. uz2bUSMC 07-21-2006, 16:57 I know you stated that, I was basically just running my mouth some more. But I am going to see what their prices are like now. The gone shoppe has 'good' prices and flatwoods was 'outrages', but if that has changed then good. But in my Experience they have been really high, so if they are lower now, that is a good thing, but it hasn't been my priority to keep up with a shop that has high prices. Like I said, if they are low now, that's good, I be checking them out within the next couple of weeks. If they are lower then I will stand corrected. gmckinl 07-22-2006, 08:34 Get one without the rail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have one with and it is a PITA to find a holster to fit. Everytime I find one I like, it only fits the version w/o the rail. The pistol/rail is too short to mount anything w/o looking goofy IMHO (though I really like the looks of the railed pistol w/ nothing mounted). I'm still bummed by this weeks failed holster shopping experience. Glocks&Ducs 07-22-2006, 08:41 Originally posted by gmckinl Get one without the rail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The generally distributed, Uncle Mikes, Galco, and such haven't really put one out that I can think of. But if you do a search for companies like Sidearmor, CTAC, and those type of companies that pretty much make the holster for you when you order it, they should be able to hook you up. You might wait a little longer, but it will be what you need and they usually don't cost that much more than the run of the mill holsters out there. gmckinl 07-22-2006, 12:10 Originally posted by Glocks&Ducs What brand of holsters have you tried so far? Here's a partial list of ones that DO NOT FIT the model with rails: Alessi CQC/S (confirmed yesterday), Sparks VM-II (though I understand he now says the same holster will fit either one), Don Hume 721OT, Mitch Rosen, Galco Concealable and Matrix. I know of several that do fit, but most are plastic/kydex. I'm probably going to order a Bulman on Monday as he has said in a previous email to me that he can do one for G30 w/ rails. It cost $8 to get into the gun show and I always have to work on the days they're in town anyway. My gun shop charges $30 for all transfers. I still havn't done it yet. That's what I plan to use when I get my railed 30 and sell my unrailed 30. epsylum 07-25-2006, 20:41 Originally posted by JDinNC I was told by someone here on GT that the Fobus OWB "model GL4" works with the railed 30 also. That's what I plan to use when I get my railed 30 and sell my unrailed 30. I am not sure of the model, but I have a Fobus paddle holster that fits both my g21 and G30. So if the the railed G21 fits, the G30, even with the rail, has to also. Also by this logic my Comp-Tac CTAC Slide should fit both styles also as it also accomdates the G21. BTW the CTAC is a pretty sweet holster. Gunnersaw 07-27-2006, 19:38 I also have the model GL-4 . It fits fine with the rails. JDinNC 08-09-2006, 19:12 OK. I just picked up my new G30 w/ rail yesterday. It does not fit in my Fobus GL4 or Sidearmor IWB holsters. Anyone know the number for Fobus? I'd like to call them to see if I can get one for it (Assuming mine is old and their newer ones are compatible). I've shopped around online but none say anything about light rail compatibility. They just say GL4. Glocks&Ducs 08-09-2006, 19:23 Originally posted by JDinNC OK. I just picked up my new G30 w/ rail yesterday. It does not fit in my Fobus GL4 or Sidearmor IWB holsters. The manufacturer is located just off of Hwy17 and up the road(north)from sportsman's lodge. If he hasn't made one for the new G30, maybe he will give you one for letting him use your railed G30 for the mold. I have both Fobus and G-Code holsters, they are a world apart in quality. http://www.tacticalholsters.com/gcode.htm Glocks&Ducs 08-09-2006, 19:24 Oops. I forgot you are further away.
