James Are you thinking about the new 328i coupe that's due out in September? I think it will have a base price around 37K or a little more but by the time you add options it goes up considerably. The 325i sedan should still be in the 35K range, nicely equipped it may be more like 44K but I suppose it depends on how you want it equipped.
I just ordered my 2007 335i yesterday. The base model is 40,600 but I added about 9K in options.
Can't wait 'till October.

That's sexy. It looks leaner, more muscular. My eyes immediately go towards the rear end, though. Less invasive of a rear end. The only thing I don't like about it is the taillights. Seems like BMW has been playing with the rear end and taillight design for some time now trying to find something that "sticks." And I haven't really seen a winner yet. This one looks particularly similar to a Hyundai Sonata's rear end.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it though. This isn't meant to be a knock, moreso my own thoughts and observations.
Me personally? I wouldn't give a dime to BMW corporate, so nothing new. Even worse, I probably wouldn't buy anything newer than a 95 M3, which to me is the epitome of a sports sedan....
However, for $35k, you can definitely get a cherry 330i ZHP (Performance Package) which is for most enthusiasts a much better car than any 325 of any iteneration...

For you, we need to know what you'll use it for? Any track, hard driving? Hauling 4 kids? hauling clients? etc etc. Cars are tools, and it helps to know the job you want to do before you pick a tool. Although sometimes you pick up a tool and learn to love the job its for, but I digress....
commander thats the one. well looking at e90post the price starts at $35k i might add leather for $1,500. i was also thinking about taking the trip munich to save around $2,500. it would mainly be for regualr driving. i am finance occasionaly i will have to go to a cleints house or office but hardly have them in my car and i have no children so i do not need 4 doors. i think i am going to go for the coupe.

Sorry, I don't see Hyundai at all. I see a little more resemblance to:

Sure, it looks exactly like its bigger cousin. But I don't understand how you can say you don't see it at all. I mean, look at it, and please, be honest. It's not about proving me right or wrong, it's about me not thinking I'm crazy.
I mean they don't look IDENTICAL, but they have some pretty strong shape similarities, the "reverse" light is built into the design underneath the red "brake" light... working into a trapezoid-shaped license plate area (albeit upside down on the BMW)...
somebody tell me I'm not crazy. Seriously, don't you see some resemblance? I mean, it didn't strike me (the similarities) for schits and giggles. I immediately thought, "hmm, that looks kinda like the Sonata rear."

Can't go wrong in t a 3 series
You could probably p/u a 2-3 year old M3 for that 30-35 range. You won't be dissappointed.
If I could live with only 2 doors, that would be what I am driving now.
Even the 328 or 330 will leave you smiling.

I'd personally go with the 2003 M5...thats just my taste for BMW's or smaller M3 but sounds like you want 4 doors.

I spent approx $36K for my '06 325. Not "loaded", but "nicely equipped".
I've read where people got better deals than that.
Ordered it with manual trans (of course ;)), Sports Pkg, Premium Pkg, Xenon headlights, Comfort Access, metallic paint.

I just got word that production on 335i's with Navi has been delayed until September. That means mine won't arrive here until late Oct or early Nov.:miff:
The good news is it will be coming with Real-time Traffic Information integrated with the Navigation System. A new feature for the 2007 3 & 6 series.
Now I can't wait for November.

I bought a 91’ 735il a few months ago off ebay. It’s in great shape but high miles. It runs great! Above all, I got it for 2,500.

He lives out of state though so I have never driven it.

FWIW, I bought a 2006 325i with sport, adaptive xenon, and steptronic for about 37. That was with 1 additional year of maintenance putting it at 5 year 100,000 and the paint and interior protection (comes with free periodic detail jobs).
I haven't looked back. It's a fantastic car and is made to be driven. It's manners seem better the harder you drive it. If you are on the fence, here's a breeze pushing you the 325 way. Or I gues you could wait and get a 328 sedan. Not sure about pricing on that.
I've had a couple of 7's and four 5's and one 3 (a M). The one I really liked was a 540 with the sport package. Great handling car. The 3 with the M package was fast but not as versatile as the 540.
I can't help you. I kinda liked the 325i (looks) but I just did some research on it.
3350lbs, 225hp, less than 190lb ft of torque? The magazines didn't see that impressed by it's handling either. A Toyota Camry would be more fun to drive.
I think it's way overpriced for a mild-performing sedan.

Sir, put down the crack pipe and STEP AWAY from the keyboard!!!
After driving my mom's 05 325 Touring (Sport Package, makes a HUGE difference...), I have reached the conclusion that unfortunately, BMW still hands down makes the best sports sedans out there. Crisp handling, enough power to keep you out of trouble, great brakes, good looks, nice interior. The all around package

I'm just saying, if you don't mind not having a back seat you could buy a 2004 Corvette Z06 for the same price (Mid $30K) and a far better handling, braking, accelerating car. Would still get upper 20mpg on the highway too.
How about a subaru WRX? $10000 cheaper and I bet it would handle, brake, and accellerate just as good as that BMW, and also has 4-doors.
Okay, I'll give you that the Toyota Camary wouldn't handle as good as the 325i, but it would out-acceralate it.
