Greetings Glockers/fans of the G17.
I used to carry a G19 for the past 3 years. But I recently traded it for a Sig Sauer P226 in .357sig.The G19 was definitely more practical and compact but I'm not complaining.
Now my CCW is a G17.

It's a good choice but the G22 is better cause it's a .40.
PS. I also have a G17 that is used for CCW and this reply is just a bit of teasing that is not meant to start a 9 vs 40 debate.

In that case...I'll start the debate then.I will have gotten off a double tap and head shot on target before you recover from the recoil of your first shot. :clown:

If you can do that you are shooting very well. My last qual course I was shooting .2 to .25 splits on the multi round strings. Practice makes it a lot easier to control the recoil.

I do not care what you shoot, a hit with a .22 hurts more than a miss with a .45. Shoot as fast as you can hit the target but not so fast you miss. As I learned from one instructor Slow is Smooth- Smooth is Fast. Now if I could just be as fast as Jerry Mikulek.:) :)
I don't have a G22, but I do have a G17 and a Springfield XD40.
Last couple of USPSA/IPSC matches I shot I used them.
Both matches had a drop turner target that was exposed for about 1 1/2 seconds.
With the G17 I hit the target 4 times. With the XD I only got 2 hits on the target.

My ccw is also a G17. I've put 'only' a few thousand rounds through her so far with zero problems--gotta love having total faith in your weapon!

Poppa Bear, agreed.Only hits count.
vafish, do you still carry your G36?
HavinaPretzel, whats your carry load if you don't mind me asking?
Thanks for the replies, gentlemen.

Yes the G36 is still my daily carry gun. Occasionally I'll get a wild hair and carry the G17 and on a very rare occasion I'll carry both the G36 and the G17. On even rarer occassions I carry my Springfield XD40, but it had some feeding isssues so I don't trust it at the moment.

Thanks for the reply vafish.
I'm thinking the G36 would make a great back-up pistol.Ankle carry or maybe a fanny pack or even one of those "day planners".
Have yet to see a G36 in person though. Most shops don't seem to have one on display or for sale.
The G36 is close in size to a G19.
I think it's a little big for pocket and ankle carry.

One in each hand!
I like carrying the full size models (I have a 17 and 22). I use to be a 1911 guy and always liked my Commander size pistols the best. A full size GLOCK is about the same size. To me, my 23 is as compact as I want to get. My 26 was just too small for me.
Yes well said the G17 is commander size and lite.
I'm carrying a G26 24/7...but the G17 is never far away. I've always said (as much as I love the G26) if I was limited to one handgun, the GLOCK 17 would be it.

The G26 is sweet.I discovered that I shoot the G26 extremely accurately when I rented it a few years ago.Its on the "list".
My G17 is my duty weapon and also my CCW. Best glock out there!

I'll never sell my G17...
I'm just trying to decide if I'll give it to my son (if I ever have one) or if it'll be with me in my coffin ;)
