I have a question regarding the paint on my '86 Volvo.
It's blue, and the paint code is 200-2 .
It looks like the previous owner scratched the hood with something like steel wool. The surface looked kind of hazey. I used a polishing compound to get rid of the worst of the scratches, and then I rubbed on Turtle Wax. It stayed shiney for about a day, and now looks more like the hazey condition.
Is there a clear coat over the color coat of the factory paint?
Maybe I could apply a clear coat<edited to add a clear coat of paint> , and return the hood to close to it's original condition.
Would this work?
