Hi, I new to the forun, but not new to learning things the hard way. Picked up a new G19 with lasermax sight system. Took it to the range...very accurate. Came home took the gun apart to clean and had the bright idea to put the origional recoil spring assembly in to see of it would function as a spare if the laser went out for repaire. I did not put the factory slide lock back in the gun. Went back together fine, but could not get the gun apart to remove it. Finally after much persistance on my part got it appart. I will not try that again.:laughabove:
We routinely exchange the LaserMax units with the OEM guide rods on our G19 & G21, for range practice, without a problem. We leave the LaserMax slide release in place.
Something's wrong...

What kind of trigger does it have? I had a 36 with the NY-1 trigger, and I had to hold the trigger back to release the slide.

As long as the slide stop switch is installed correctly in the first place, that is red dots facing the operator and you are using the replacement slide stop spring provided by LaserMax, you can use factory Glock recoil spring/guide rod assembly without noting any difference. We do this all the time without incident. I can't vouch for the allignment of the sight with the .22lr conversion kit and don't advocate using our sight with it but the switch and spring pose no problems as they don't affect critical dimensions. Just remove the guide rod laser and replace the slide with the conversion kit for practice. Feel free to contact me at (800) LASER-03.

Thanks, Ed! Its great to be able to post to a forum where folks from the "Heavy hitters," hang out.
Without the courtesy of follow-up from the original poster, the claim of a legitimate problem is erroneous, at best.
