View Full Version : MK9 mag release pretty tight -- normal?

Just received my wife's MK9 Elite '03 -- it's sure a pretty little gun. It doesn't feel much heavier than my PM9.

Comparing my PM9 and the MK9, the mag release seems quite strong in the MK9. The mags do drop out, but it just seems a little over-tensioned.

Any thoughts on that?

Don't forget, in a new gun all of the springs are going to have a higher tension than a used one.

My PM9 was and is much less tensioned. The MK9 is a different gun of course :)

Heavier than many of my other pistols, the same as the PPK. Desirable I think...

Mine was kind of notchy at first. Just keep pushing the button and it will get better.

The mag release on my MK9 Elite '98 is more stiff than the one on my PM9 as well. I never really paid it much attention, but my shooting buddies commented on that fact last time I was at the range.

Congrats on the new MK9 Elite. I love mine.
