I have a set of ameriglo smooth operators (3 dots, but white ring on front only) Whats the best way to clean the night sights without damaging the lens, and without wiping off the white rings?
Thanks in advance its 3:30 am gnight

Don't know about the Ameriglo's myself as I don't own any, but my Meprolights have withstood Breakfree, Eezox, Hoppes #9, Mpro 7 and I.D. red degreaser with no problems. Any modern night sights should be able to withstand the usual solvents / cleaners.

Mepros use plastic rings, not painted-on rings.

Was just trying to help the guy out, I figured my partially relevant post was better than the nothing he had gotten so far.
AmeriGlos will probably be next for me--I'll try the yellow/green Operators.
Quality combat-type sights are pretty sturdy things...
Still, I would not make it a point to put aggressive solvents on the sights, themselves. I've had zero problems with Hoppe's Elite cleaner on Meprolight, Trijicon, XS Big Dot, and Dawson Precision FO sights.
To finish, I use a Q-tip and a drop of lens cleaner (any camera store has it), or on the FO's, peroxide cleaner, first the wet end, then the dry end, followed by a blast of canned air. That's it. Takes seconds. ;)
My silicone gun cloth puts a thin film over the lenses, but the light shines right through that, and the film works as a dirt release for future cleanings.

Thanks guys, seems like it wasnt a popular thread but I had to ask. N.S. arent free and I would hate to mess em up.

I see no down-side to your inquiry; and yes, it just might have saved you some grief! ;)
