View Full Version : Stripper Clips
I've never used them and know nothing about them, so sorry if this is a dumb question, but can they be used in AK mags, or are they just for loading SKSs?
Yes you can but you need a this for it to work .
It goes over the mag then you put the stripper clip in the slots , and then push the rounds in the mag .

Just a word on 7.62 stripper clips.
If you can find real "surplus" ones they work better.
Look for Yugo,or Chi-com ones(NO they don't say "China"
on them)
Or you could sit down a run a shell case back and forth
for a few minutes in the "cheap ones"($20 per 100)

Cool, thanks. The reason I ask is cuz I got some Yugo surplus ammo already loaded on clips, and was hoping i wouldn't have to take it all off the clips to load it in my mags.

I have heard that the AK 7.62 x 39 stripper guides do not work very well. Are there certain ones to avoid and do you need the mag loading tool piece that attaches to the mag? Since you have to load the stripper clips anyway, would not the Lula be the most time efficient way to load an AK47 mag, manual finger loading notwithstanding?
The AK stripper clip guide is about as durable as a beer can, and it takes a good bit of practice to get all 10 rounds to strip out without hanging up. If you happen to have a ton of ammo that's already on stripper clips, it'd be worth using it; if not, the LULA is just as fast if not faster.
