what do you use on your ar

hello all i am gonna bdget in a scope for my ar15 build.I'm gonna get a flat top and need a scope.
I was wondering what you all use here and why and price please.
alot of people tell me to use red dot but i odnt know about that since i am more leniant to the magnification of a scope.
I probably wont shoot past 100 yards since my range is only 25 yards and i can't hunt deer in ohio with a rifle.i dont want to spend $500 either so please fill me in

I just ordered a eotech 512....i had chance to do a pass around on usualsuspect.com a guy passed around one to try for a week i loved it it was fast...i might get a scope also and switch out but i needed something for quick shootin in my yard in whats left of hills in nj and of course playing hondo at the range
