I am about to order an RRA Mid-Length A4 with a DD Quad Rail 12.0 FSPM. My question is what type of flip up sights do you recommend?

On the front I wasn't sure if I would go the flip route. Should I just stay with an A2 sight or go with a YHM flip up or maybe an MI. Initially I will only be using the steel sights, but I do plan on adding some optics in the future. Would the A2 interfere with the sight picture of a scope.

As for the back, the plan is to go with an A.R.M.S. #40L. Any opinions on this selection?

Thanks,

The ARMS 40L is a great choice for the rear. As for the front, I'd use a standard A2 if you intend to co-witness. Or with a scope of 3 or 4 power you won't notice the front sight. I gone both ways and prefer the 40L rear and A2 front.

I have the GG&G A2 style flip up rear BUIS ( http://www.gggaz.com/index.php?id=36&parents=38,40 ). It's very well made, but a little expensive (I shopped around and got one new for $90 on sale).

I'm sure the ARMS is a good choice also, but I've never used one. A lot of people speak highly of Troy iron sights as well.

I too would go with the standard A2 front sight. I have an EOTech on my RRA Elite mid-length, and I don't even notice the front sight with the EOTech on.

Just curious; where are you ordering the RRA mid-length from?

I'm still shopping around, but www.ar15sales.com is where i'm leaning towards. Mid A4 with chrome lined barrel for $770 shipped. Know of anywhere better?

Thanks for your inputs.

Sounds like you're getting a great deal. I got mine from Eagle Firearms. They are more expensive (I think mine was ~$800 before adding the rail & rear sight + shipping), but I wanted to use a credit card. AR15sales (aka Legal Transfers) only take money orders or checks.

Wherever you go, I'm sure you'll like your mid-length. I'm very pleased with mine.
