Ever since buying a 22 & 23, my 17 has been a little neglected. So I'm taking it to the range of Friday. :hugs:

Removed the Meps from it to put on my 40 S&W and put the stock sights back on. I think the 17 will be my GSSF gun for now.

Spent all of yesterday afternoon chronographing load build ups; mostly for the 17 (124gr Gold Dots) and some for the 20 (200gr XTPs). Beautiful cool day, about 90F and everything worked out great.

I banged it with the car door, I got my seatbelt caught on it, (twice) I exposed it to rain on several days, I threw it in a gun lockup, I hung my hat on it (several times), and I banged it on the door frame going into wawa today. Now that I look back, I'm a klutz.

I found a whole box of S&B lying in my corn field from last summer. The box was falling apart and the ammo was green and corroded. It was actually sticking to the plastic tray.

I immediately loaded my G17 and sent them all down range without incident. This no till farming is a good thing .

Its been working as a go-to house gun 24-7 and as a cool weather CCW weapon with a hooded sweatshirt.

Went to the shooting range yesterday. With my G17 I shot 3 mags full of Corbon JHP's.Zero malfuntions of course.1.5 inch groups at 10yards.Definitely my mediocre shooting and not the pistol's fault.

Cleaned and lubed it and is now my carry and home pistol loaded with 18 rounds of Winchester Ranger 147gr. SXT.

Shot a USPSA match yesterday.

About 130-140 rounds. Had one FTE where it left the empty case in the chamber and fed the next round up on top of it.

Of course it was on the classifier stage.

My sons G19 was flawless. He fired about 170 rounds. Gotta wwork on that steel a bit more.

Over the past 3 weeks, I've taken 4 newbies to the range; 3 family members and 1 guy from work who wants to buy a GLOCK.

The first 3 never shot a pistol before and I had them shooting in the -0 ring of a IDPA target at 15'. The guy from work also was hitting the -0 ring from 4 yards with the 17.

It's great watching the smiles on their faces when they make hits with the 17!

Just got back from the range (I notice my Steelers lost again...WTF?) where I took a newbie with his brand new S&W CS9. I got him shooting straight and he's getting used to the decocker etc.

However, I wish I had got to him prior to his purchasing the CS9 cause he fell in love with my G17 AND my G26. The CS9 is a nice little gun but when he took my G26 in his hand an saw the additional firepower...well the obvious happened. Then he asked to shoot my G17 and now he wants to own both.

This is not a S&W slam. Not at all. I was impressed with the size, reliability and accuracy of the little Smith. However, I looked up the price on their website and I noticed that the suggested retail price is $777. Hmmmm....

Can you say G17 and G26 for only a little more? Of course I did not want him depressed about his gun so I put my GLOCK's away and talked up his little CS. In time we'll get him a GLOCK for sure.

p.s. I've got the M6 lazer all dialed in. Anywhere in my house, if I put the dot on it, it'll have a hole in it:trek:

I bought a set of Warren Tactical Sevigny competition sights for the 17. Big difference from the stock sights. The rear notch is wide and the front sight is really thin. Great sight picture.

Also did a .25 trigger job and installed a 3.5# connector. Can't wait for the next match!

LA_357SIG- The engraving looks sweet!

Yep. That little light/lazer works real nice. I've got it pinpointed at seven yards, so just about anywhere in my small home I just point and press. The light works real nice too and the whole unit's weight is hardly noticable.

I own a Surefire X200, a Streamlight M3 and this little Insight Tech M6. They're all very nice but the smaller lighter Insight works best on my G17.

Got all of the girls together for a pic...actually neither of the G19's is available...but the 17's and 26's are here:

Plus, I shot a couple of hundred rounds out of the older 3rd gen (the one with the M3X light) and qualed with her at work. She is now ready for duty!
