Hello,

Sombody did offer me a PPK for a good price.
But i would like to know more about the pistol and when it has been build.
I did search the internet for an answer but didnīt find anything that could help me.

Itīs not a new weapon and the owner has it for a couple years, but he does not know the background. (if i buy it, itīs just for the collection)

the internet told me there are many types of PPKīs, i found a picture that looks the same as the one iīm talking about:

Tekst:
Carl Walther Waffenfabrik Ulm-Do. eagle-over-N-Logo
Modell PPK Cal. 7,65 mm

Can anybody tell me more about this model?

Thanks,
Patrick

You have a pre 1968 German made gun. The caliber is .32acp.
The Gun Control Act of 1968 stopped the importation of the PPK because it was 1/10 of an inch to short!! Walther pondered this and came up with the PPK/S, which was a PP frame mated with a PPK slide. But, I digress. I would say it was made sometime in the 1960's because up until then, Walther could not make guns in Deutschland. They were made in France. I'm not sure when Walther started up production in Deutschland, though.
Had your gun been made in France, it would look like this.

If the PPK is in good shape and the price is reasonable, go for it! You won't be disappointed in the least. The quality of the German made PPK is simply outstanding.

Oh one other thing, The Eagle over N mark suggests that it is a post war gun. Had it been a wartime piece, the marking would have beem eagle over angespanntes Kreuz or hooked cross.
