I've decided to buy my first Beretta, a used 9000 9mm I found at Gander Mt. It comes with two 10 rnd mags. Im planing on buying one or two 12 rnd mags and some 15rnd 92f mags, as I understand I can use them in the 9000. I also found the sleeve you can drop on the 15rnd mags to make the grip a little more comfortable with the extendad mags. As I was reading one of the descriptions online about the sleeve, it stated that this sleeve / grip extension was nessary to allow the gun to function with the 15rnd mags. Is part truely nessary, or can I use the gun/mag combo with out the sleeve? Thanks.

For all practical purposes you have to have the adapter sleeve. You can just hold the 92 mag in the gun and it will operate. The mag release will hold the mag in the gun at the proper depth and everything but if you wiggle it around the mag will come right out.:)

I see, so the 9000 mag is actually wider than the 15rnd mag and the sleeve acts a wedge within the the mag well. Gotch ya, thanks.
