I saw this on a website today and wondered if anyone had any experience with them. The price tag starts at around $1,000.00 dollars. Also what would a actual fully automatic 10/22 run? I heard in the ballpark of 10,000.00? Thanks Esox357.

friend of mine is/was beta tester - i've shot 250-300 rds through it like 8 mo ago

was accurate [easy beer can hits at 50 yds with 3shot bursts]
ran fine from 10/22 broken in [can take some breakin on new rifle to work ok]

was wood stock - pistol grip was too wide but usable - looks like the plastic stock is better in that respect

norrel 10/22 is megabux [10k ot thereabout] and other than registered nfa firearm, akins works similar but non nfa at least for now [atf has habit of reversing their position]

if i didn't have nfa 22 firearm i'd be tempted to buy an akins - however i have an uzi with 22/9mm/10mm/45 capability and so no need for 10/22 one hth

I bought one of the polymer full-stock Akins Accelerators. It is as advertised. You can blast away at 650 rpm all day, until you run out of ammo! If you're into full-auto, but don't want to pay the big dollar prices of transferables, this is definitely the way to go.
I got mine a few weeks ago, and it did take a day or so to get everything up and running. You have to assemble the gun into the stock, and then 'tune' the receiver to the stock. That wasn't hard. What took the most time for me was tuning my Tactical Innovations mags to my gun, and that didn't have anything to do the Akins stock. But once I got the mags dialed in, the gun just ran and ran.
Pretty cool to have 99% of the fun of the Norrell 10/22 full auto at 1/10th the price!
The best thing is- No BATFE paperwork to fill out.
The only downside to the stock that I can see is that when the local cops come out to investigate the 'machinegun fire', you won't have any paperwork to show that your Akins is not a machinegun (because it's NOT a machinegun, even though it fires at the rate of a machinegun). That's going to be a bit of a 'sticky-wickett', as the British say...

Thanks for you input on the accelerator, is it easy to control the trigger to fire say three round bursts? Thanks Esox357.

It fires pretty fast. If you spent a little time on practicing the trigger, you could get 3-5 round bursts on demand.
I was shooting 5-8 round bursts, but then decided it was more fun dumping the whole mag down range.
The Akins will shoot like a regular 10/22 (single shot) if you only touch one of the trigger stops, instead of both.
It's a very cool stock for just having fun.

i could do 2-3 after some practice, but i also try to do that with auto firearms so i have had a lotta training lol

Would the addition of a muzzle break or aftermarket sites effect the function ? The website tends to specify "stock" 10/22

You need to replace the stock hammer with a target hammer from Volquartsen. This is a must.

Although the manufacturer says to use a stock 10/22, I use my suppressor on mine and it works fine.

Looks like it wouldn't be that hard to modify a stock and build the spring assembly (if you have the setup and head knowledge) but I haven't had the chance to examine one of these in person.

Neat idea but I don't know if I'm for dropping $1000 on something like this sight unseen, I normally like to try before I buy on my gun purchases.

the wood stocked one ran fine

plastic probably will too after tweaking - and a lot less tweaking than say a ceiner m16 kit in 16 or subcal one in mac [thses almost never work]

We had a silencertests.com colorado meet last weekend, and one gentleman brought a Norrell Integral Suppressed 10/22 in an Akins Accelerator polymer stock with red dot.

It ran very well, and was very quiet. It would even do 2-4 round bursts with Remington Subsonics. The barrel comes apart for cleaning, and reportedly uses the stock tapered ruger barrel inside a steel tube with aluminum baffles.

I am itching to get one myself soon, but need to pay off about $20,000 in debt at 4.99% that I used to finish my basement when the home loan money ran out.
