View Full Version : Flashlight mount
I'm looking to mount a light to my AR but do not want a barrel mount or to put rails on the hand guards, I thought I have seen pics here of a light mount that appears to clamp to the hand grips holes, can't seem to find the product after searching everywhere. Does this beast exist ?

There are lots of bolt-on rail options that either utilize the vent holes, or require minimal drilling of the HG.
There are also snap-on sleeves available with a base built-in, that allow quick transfer of the mount to other guns.
You could use a scope ring on a ring base as well. I know several folks who use that setup with a Surefire 6P.
Here is the Streamlight bolt-on rail, with the Samco flashlight ring and Surefire G2. This setup has been in service on a number of guns. $75.00 or so for everything.
Grant at G&R sells several options like these, as well as his own branded offering.
Here are two photos of the Samco/G2/Streamlight setup.

I have rail that go into the vent holes in your HG's and rails that attach to your FSB.

For a completely detatchable snap on set up try:
Holsters Plus
www.holstersplus.com
look at the 6P/AR-15 mod. (Shown with M3 light)
They make lots of good quality products.
Good Luck!
I have a Samco with a SureFire M3 that is not bad. I think it was under 20 bux and can be removed in jusr a few seconds.

They have a tendency to get chewed up by the light if you remove it alot, as I do at the armory every day, which is why I went with a Vltor Scout mount, made of aluminum.
