My firend just purchase a new, Springfield Armory 1911-WWII GI spec. It says made in Brazil, does anyone know if it is made by Taurus?
No. Springfield's guns are made by Imbel, another Brazilian arms company.

I believe the frame and some slides are made in Brazil but parts are assmbled here. Could be wrong, maybe someone else has more detail
