View Full Version : Frame rails eaten away?- PM9

There is an area on the front right of my PM9's frame that I can't tell if it has been eaten away by friction, or if it was engineered to be the way that it is.

I tried taking a photo of it to post, but my camera can't seem to focus properly anymore (5 year old digital camera that only cost $200 at the time).

It's on the front right, just before the very front of where the rails start. There's a 3/4" section where it's just is flat against the frame.

The gun functions very well. I just was wondering if I should let Kahr know about it or not.

I can't remember if it was there before or not.

The polymer frame rails are just used to help assemble the firearm after cleaning. The steel rails are the ones that do all of the work. The steel rails are in the dust cover and the rear of the frame. It is normal to see the polymer frame rails worn or "chewed up". As long as it functions correctly there is nothing to worry about.

YMMV

Good deal.

No worries then. :)
