Ok, I've been toying with the idea of getting one of these for a while. I saw one in a pawn shop here that was beat up BAD, and was SEVERELY overpriced on top of that...

However, I just saw one today that is in very nice condition, and it comes with a spare mag and the holster, and the price is right. On top of that, it DOES in fact have the hex frame bolt.

With all of that in mind, and considering I only intend to shoot standard pressure fmj ball ammo in it, are there any other maintenance/reliability issues I need to know about?

Let me know, as it looks as if I will be making my decision to purchase tomorrow (Wednesday). I'm ALSO wanting to get some sort of .22 pistol to plink with (but something full size or so, like a Ruger...), and actually, I went into the gun shop to look at .22s, when I lucked up on the Walther. I WISH they would give me a deal on both of them (a .22 and the P1), but that ain't gonna happen....:)

Yeah, but if I go the Gander Mountain route, I have to pay for shipping, transfer fees, etc. which will push the price up.

The one here that I'm looking at local is $289......

Well, I went ahead and picked the P1 up yesterday. Printed off a manual online, read it, then went home and field stripped the pistol, inspected it, and lightly oiled it, according to the instructions in the manual.

I picked up some standard pressure, 115gr. fmj (Tennessee Cartridge), and put about 70 rounds through it.....NO malfunctions of any kind, and putting 16 rounds (two mags) into one hole, quarter size groups was easy! Ok, so the distance was only 7 yards away..:)(and a couple of those quarter size groups DID creep up to Golf ball size) , but it was still fun, and the pistol hits POINT OF AIM at that distance and with this load.

All in all, a very fun gun to shoot!!!!!
