View Full Version : HK USP 45.c ss slide
Is there any durable way to have a ss slide coated black?
give Virgil Tripp a call. he will know for sure if his polymer coatings will work for your slide.

Walter Birdsong; his Black T will go over anything. And it looks very much like the HE finish HK is using now on slides, for what that's worth.

Any spray and bake finish or duracoat will do the trick. There are plenty of people that do it out there, but if you are brave, you could do it yourself.

Seems to me that the value of your ss HK would go down if you coated it black. I think the two tone HK's look really nice. My G21C is currently a two tone, with Robar NP3 up top. I've actually thought about sending my USPc .45 in to have the same done.

Didn't they stop making SS slides? If so I wouldn't coat it, that'd be crazy.
They didnt stop making the ss.A friend just bought one, shot a couple hundred rounds and doesnt like it.Might trade my G30 for it.Just dont like the two tone look.

Why don't you and bowtie trade guns. That way you both will be happy and we can prevent a SS from getting raped.

H&K stopped importing the ss slides into the states. Any "new" ones that any dealer has is "old" inventory and once they are gone - that will be it (unless H&K decide to start importing them again). I'm sure it will have no problem selling if it gets listed on the gun boards.

Yes, it was old stock. No more is being brought in...

Knew I wasn't nuts.:animlol:
You can probably sell it and have enough to get a regular one and an extra mag.
Well I found out today its only had about 60 rounds put through it.Comes with 5 mags, case and any other bs it comes with..I realy like it other than the ss slide.Just not sure I want to get rid of my g30 for it..

Yeah, you have arguably the best Glock made in the G30. The HK USP SS 45 would be nice to have, but I'll bet there are folks who will argue that the USP 40 Compact is HK's best effort in the USP Line. Glock has much more aftermarket support than the HK (Just try to find a factory USP barrel for a reasonable price!) Not sure the HK would be a big upgrade for you, but it all boils down to personal preference. The HK does have the recoil reduction. Maybe go ahead and buy it and shoot both side by side for a while and sell the one you begin to like less?
Just don't tan the slide if you get it!! :animlol:

Don't like the Stainless Slide? You're killing me dude. I'd buy a G30 just to make the trade. I'd be all over that like white on rice in a snow storm. I wish my slide was SS.
I'd get it, if you don't like it, then sell it on here and you'll probably have enough to get a glock w/ nightsight, etc.
