Just wondering what spare parts (if any) I should keep on hand for my G30. I do have a spare guide rod assembly at this point as well as a spare trigger spring. I read a post a while back about someone having a spring (can't remember which one) snap on their G30. It was only a $2 part and at that price, it doesn't hurt to have one handy. Also, any good cleaning recomendations? I love this gun but MAN-O-MAN does it get dirty!
Seriously, I've had this gun for about 3 months now and I love it more every time I take it to the range. :hearts:

I found the thread and I guess I am answering one of my own questions :burn:, but the spring mentioned was the slide lock lever spring. A small flat spring that holds the slide lock lever (the one used to disassemble the pistol) in place. I guess that was fairly stupid of me to ask and THEN search. :blondmoment:
Anyone else recommend getting this spare piece? Other spare part recommendations? :dunno:

There is a good article in the current issue of Combat Handguns that will answer your question. I haven't finished reading the article yet so I can't advise you.
I've bought/acquired spares on almost every piece, save the frame, slide, and barrel, primarily by tinkering. However, the only part on my 30 that actually broke by itself was the slide lock spring.

Actually, if you are really serious about having some spare parts for your Glock, and want to be 'ready for anything,' so to speak, I reccomend, (if the gun is going to be a keeper for sure), one of everything. You can get everything in the slide and reciever, for about 50.00. This ain't bad at all, and you are ready for what ever comes up. Reguardless to popular opinion. Glocks do have things break from time to time. The little striker spring cups, to a trigger spring. I have a tupperware box "filled" with parts, and labeled, in bagies, for each gun. May never need them.... But if i do, i got em! ;)
The magizine article, that Stud Duck referred you to in Combat Handguns magizine, will give you all the info you need.

Slide lock springs have been redesigned for better life. I keep several spares in my tool box.

Thanks guys. I did buy the issue of Combat Handgun and found the article extremely instructive. I bought the slide lock spring and a few other assorted odds and ends. I'm getting married at the end of the month so I'll have to complete my spare parts bin after I get back from my honeymoon.
I gotta say, MAN O MAN do I love my G30! It's a keeper for sure! It gets better with every trip to the range!

Get spring cups for sure. I just launch one across the room the other day and can not find it. Unfortunately no one around here carries spare Glock parts so I had to get it online. I bought some other possible lose/break items just in case. It is a good idea to have a spare of about everything. You don't want something to break at the range and then you're done for the day.
