I just purchased a Colt series 70 that was worked by Wilson Combat in the 1980's. I have talked to several people here in town and one that used to work for Wilson. I am trying to confirm more with Wilson Combat right now, but they have identified the Swenson Safety, King Trigger, hammer and beavertail. The sights were a signature of a smith that used to work there. Remember, this gun was worked over before Wilson started making there own parts. The slide is stamped "Wilson Combat Berryville, Ark". Does anyone else have anything like this or anything they would like add??? Enjoy the pic. Please though, I have already removed the square trigger guard, so no comments on it please.

I know a guy who had one like that except his was all chrome.
The sights are low mount Micro with a light melt. The old term was "melted Micro" or "buried Bomar." Some nitwit gunzine hack kept saying "melded" until it stuck, until folks quit worrying about corners on their sights.
That's a classic! Worth keeping. Congratulations!
Very nice my friend:hearts:
What's that on the triggerguard? Does it serve a functional purpose, or is it purely cosmetic?

I like that a lot. It's a keeper for sure, let us know how she shoots.

That would be a bolt on "combat" trigger guard. Not something Wilson ever did. At this moment it should be half way to China or something. It was the first thing I did. Bye Bye bolt on Glock wanna be trigger guard.

You betcha it's a keeper. I put about 150 rds down her and she's accurate even when I'm sloppy. Talk about a lazy mans gun. You don't even have to try,it does all the work. Needless to say, I am very impressed by the performance of this weapon. It's so tight, I have a hard time field stripping it. It requires a bushing wrench for sure.

Good call... I dislike squared trigger-guards on 1911's. Actually, I dislike squared trigger-guards on just about every pistol.
Good find!
