View Full Version : After owning nearly every other Glock, today a new G17 finds a home
Since 1991, I've owned pretty much every Glock you can buy in the U.S., but my current stable focuses on the 9mm models. Took one of my 26's today and traded for my first ever G17. I've learned to conceal the 19 even in warmer months, so I'm optimistic the 17 will carry from October-March. BTW, born-on date of July 27....it's still wet behind the ears.
This dude will get some heavy range time over the weekend. I've got at least 4 boxes of every premium round out there and will try to get some test pics posted here at some point in time.
I have owned G22's in the past and recently got a G17 and love it. Pops

Same here. I've owned just about every model and just picked up a 3rd gen G17. Nice, nice, nice. Seventeen rounds in a 22oz package,,,,,,what's not to like? These G17's are sweet.
I picked up my first 17 today too. Have owned 9 other Glocks but this is my first 17. It is GREAT.

I am the opposite. The G17 was my 1st Glock and one day I hope to own just about all of them too. next up for me is a G20C.
I recently purchased another G17. It's my third. The day I bought it I walked across the street from the gun store and immediately shot 200 rounds of Speer 124gr. GDHP.
Now, I've purchased many guns during my lifetime. And although this is not the first time I've immediately shot a brand new gun it did reaffirm something I've known for many years.
Only with a GLOCK can one immediately upon purchase load it up and shoot away...200 rounds without a single malfunction/stoppage of ANY kind.
I did the same with my first GLOCK 17 many years ago with a bunch of hot NATO ball ammo. Same as then, no malfunctions, no stoppages, no problems.
If I could only keep one handgun, only one, this would be it. GLOCK 17.
And IMHO...right up there with the Colt SAA, the Colt M1911, the Browning High Power and the Smith & Wesson M27.
Hugo I agree the G17 is the one I will keep. Pops
Congrats!
I was going to trade mine in but I'm turning it into my "Game" gun. Installed a 3.5# connector and am going to get some Heinie Race Cut sights on it.
It's a great all-round pistol!

Today I finally did the .25 trigger job and continued to polish every metallic part on my G17 including the barrel. add the evgraving and I couldnt sell my 1st Glock even if I wanted to. I'm going to pass it down to my son when he makes legal age to own it.
(the way gun laws are being eroded now he may never get it. Legally anyway :quiet:)
