Just wondering if anyone has used products to add texture to their grips. I was thinking maybe the stuff they use on precision rifle stocks to add texture to the stock like Truck Bed Lining or similiar stuff.

A friend tried out PlastiDip, for tool handles and the like. It worked okay but he had to keep re-applying it like every other range session.

T "...used products to add texture to their grips"
The stuff have found best and easiest to use is by 3M. They market it as "Safety Walk" tape, comes either in syn rubber or trad. sandpaper texture. Prefer the rubber as it has a nice stippled-like texture and comes in gray or black. The last set of panels made up for a G34 lasted over 3 yrs and could have gone longer. Their adhesive is superb and the 1" width costs only .69 cents per foot! Also comes in 2" & 4" width's if you want to take the time to make a true pattern of the grip panels, etc. It's virtually the same as the die-cut Decal Grip" stuff. Use it on AR's, mag bottoms, etc. If you screw it up it's no problem to remove as the adhesive comes off with no sticky mess to take off with solvent, etc.
Not to mention one has almost nothing invested in trying it out!
Or...If you want to spend $ on the current ultimate:
