My father has a .38super autamatic colt 1911 that was carried by his grandfather in world war 1 and by his father in korea. It is a very smooth pistol and it has mother of pearl grips. Allot of the bluing is worn, but there is no rust.
How can I find out exacly what year this gun was made?
How much do you think it is worth? It would mean allot to my dad to know this.
Any help is appreciated!:patriot:

No disrespect, but are you sure it's a .38Super? WWI ended around 1918, Colt started the 38Super around the 1929's if I'm not mistaken.

Give us a serial number and a picture if possible and I'll look up the year it was made for you:wavey:
I guess knowing when it was made wasn't really that important after all:homer:

Well I won't believe this particular gun exists until a serial number and picture are posted. And you can tell that to your dad, grandpa and next door neighbor
Now go search the internet for a picture of one:upeyes:
