Hey all I just bought a Western Field 12ga shotgun and 30-30 lever action rifle from a guy for 100 bucks total (+ some rifle rounds). They are both like new and in great shape and nice firearms even though they're on the low end of things.
So because they're cheap firearms I don't want to spend any serious money on them but the previous owner engraved his social security number into the frame on each. It's the type of do it yourself engraving with a tattoo type engraver.
Is there any easy way to cover it up or get rid of that for cheap? Seems as though it would need to be sanded out and re-blued, what would be the best way of doing this?
It's probably not worth it and if you all agree then just say so.
