Question for a gunsmith about hard chrome?

I'm considering hard chroming my G22 slide, but I have read about issues. Will H.C. damage, warp, or change the tolerances on the slide due to high heat? Or will it help tighten up the tolerances or make the slide action smoother? Thanks for any help.

Hard chrome is very thin. It will not tighten up the tolerances enough for you to notice. There may be a very slight improvement in smoothness.
There are no functional improvements you will gain from HC. If you must "pimp" a perfectly good stock finish then have at it.
