My brother recently traded with a guy he works with for a stainless Interarms .380 PPK. When he shot it last weekend he noticed the safety came on during the middle of a string of fire a couple different times. Is this a fixable problem? What might be causing it? Does anyone know if S&W will warrenty an Interarms PPK if he has to send in to be fixed?
I have a new blue S&W .380 PPK. The rear sight is slightly drifted to the left and is causing my rounds to hit slightly to the left as a consequence. I tried drifting it but it won't budge. I called a local gunsmith to ask if he can do it and he said they aren't adjustable because the rear sight is holding something in place under the slide. Can't remember what exactly he said it was. So I called Smith to see if they know and they would only say "send it into us". Anyone know what I can do to fix this besides using alittle Kentucky windage? I don't want to have to send it away for a week or two just to adjust the sight.
BTW...this Smith PPK is one of the nicest Walthers I've ever owned. I had an early Smith PPK/S and it was for the lack of a better term JUNK! There are hardly any sharp edges but the beavertail seems to "slap" the web of your hand somewhat, still leaving a mark similiar to the Walther "bite" I used to get with older models, but that was mostly because I shot 250rds. that day. I'd love to have it rounded off to the profile of the originals. The trigger pull, both DA and SA, is easily half of what my brother's Interarms model is. No malfunctions to date.
